Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin is a non-profit trade organization with nearly 850 member firms. ABC primarily represents merit contractors who are dedicated to the principles of free enterprise.

Merit contractors complete 70 percent of all construction in the U.S. ABC members and their employees use multi-skilled teams and performance/skill based incentives to deliver top-quality construction. Safety is a top priority at ABC.

ABC and the Merit Shop Philosophy

Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) is the fastest-growing construction trade association in the country because ABC supports the sound merit shop philosophy at the heart of the free enterprise system. The merit shop is a force for the economy and efficiency in construction, regardless of organizational affiliation. ABC believes all contractors qualified for a particular job should have a right to bid on that job, regardless of labor affiliation. These beliefs translate into a healthy, competitive and professional climate, the results of which are proudly reflected in ABC members¹ construction accomplishments.
