If you’ve met Jacob Moody, you know how passionate he is about the construction industry. His motivation to continue learning earned him a gold medal last March at the ABC National Craft Championships (NCC) in Long Beach, CA. Why we make a big deal of apprenticeship graduations

The atmosphere was very festive as the Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin recognized its apprentices during a recent Graduation Banquet. I’ve attended many commencement ceremonies over the past couple of decades, and none was more emotional than this one. A special note about the new Wisconsin State Electrical Code

The Wisconsin State Electrical Code is in the process of being updated to 2017 NEC. The updated code will become effective in part on Aug. 1, 2018. What two legislative wins for apprenticeship means for Wisconsin contractors

Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin scored two decisive legislative victories this spring, as Gov. Scott Walker signed two bills into law that will help address the skilled labor gap. The ABC-backed measures reduce the state’s journeymen-to-apprentice ratios to 1-to-1 for all construction trades and allows qualified high school students to enter into adult apprenticeship programs during their senior year. How are contractors filling out their rosters of talent? Some are increasing pay and benefits for their workers coupled with increased recruiting from competitors.
