Attendees successfully completing this two-day course will receive a wallet-sized card from the U.S. Department of Labor which certifies completion of this course and a large reference binder for future use. This program is Department of Commerce approved for 10 hours of Continuing Education Units for Dwelling Contractor Qualifier Certification, and 1 unit for Plumbers, Sprinkler Fitters and Electricians.
Classes can be canceled up to 2 weeks prior due to low registration numbers.
Facilities will not be secured until we have enough attendees to hold each training.

About this Course:
Looking to take either your Journeyman or Master Electrical Exam? Or do you want to brush up on your skills in using the NEC? You won’t want to miss out on these four hours of virtual live training, based on the 2017 NEC! With an internet connection and a tablet or laptop, you can access this class at a location of your choice.
From helpful tips on reading and using the 2017 National Electrical Code (EC®) book to reviewing electrical principals to help you solve exam questions and taking short mock exams, this introductory class is sure to get you started on the right path.
Who should attend:
This online virtual live course is for anyone who wants to learn to navigate the 2017 NEC®. It is approved for 4 CEU hours for the State of Wisconsin.
Instructor:
Joe Hertel, retired chief electrical engineer for the State of Wisconsin, who has been involved in writing state electrical exams in the past and is a wealth of electrical code knowledge.
How it Works:
Upon registration, you will receive an automated email invitation to the class. Further directions and worksheets will be emailed to you approximately two days before the class starts. Worksheets are in a PDF format and should be download and printed out in advance.
Format:
Session #1 Feb. 16, 5:00-7:00 pm: Overview NEC® . How to find answers to common questions.
Session #2 Feb. 18, 5:00-7:00 pm: NEC® questions and answers.
Cost:
Apprentices & Employees of ABC members–$60
Note: Please have the 2017 National Electrical Code book, scrap paper, writing instrument, and a calculator available at the start of the course. You will also need to print off the worksheets in advance. Counts for Wisconsin Electrical CEU and Apprenticeship Unpaid Related Instruction Hours. Note: CEU credits in other states not applied for.

This presentation will cover fall protection needs of all the contractors other than the framing and structural setting crews. We will look at two areas.
- Identifying and providing guidance for mechanical contractors, electrical, sprinkler and all the other interior trades on the inside of the structure.
- Identifying and providing guidance for mechanical contractors, electrical, sprinkler and all the other interior trades when they are required to work on the outside of the structure, especially the roof.
About the Speaker
John Corriveau has over 40 years’ experience in the Safety Industry and has owned Lighthouse Safety, LLC since 1993. John has spent the past 25 years specializing specifically in the areas of Fall Protection, Confined Space and Rescue. He has travelled the world as a contract trainer for OSHA & The United States Air Force and has been an active voting member of the ANSI Z359 committee since 2006. John is a renowned speaker and trainer and has helped design some of the most sophisticated Fall Protection safety systems in use today. John’s extensive product knowledge combined with his broad range of experiences, and relationships with the top manufacturers of Fall Protection equipment, enables him to share a wide spectrum of practice and theory in today’s environment.
