About this Course:
Looking to take either your Journeyman or Master Electrical Exam? Or do you want to brush up on your skills in using the NEC? You won’t want to miss out on these five hours of virtual live training, based on the 2017 NEC! With an internet connection and a tablet or laptop, you can access this class at a location of your choice.
From helpful tips on reading and using the 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC®) book to reviewing electrical principals to help you solve exam questions and taking short mock exams, this introductory class is sure to get you started on the right path.
Who should attend:
This online virtual live course is for anyone who wants to learn to navigate the 2017 NEC®. It is approved for 5 CEU hours for the State of Wisconsin.
Instructor:
Joe Hertel, retired chief electrical engineer for the State of Wisconsin, who has been involved in writing state electrical exams in the past and is a wealth of electrical code knowledge.
How it Works:
Upon registration, you will receive an automated email invitation to the class. Further directions and worksheets will be emailed to you approximately two days before the class starts. Worksheets are in a PDF format and should be download and printed out in advance.
Format: This course is presented in two virtual live sessions using GoToWebinar. Each session is two and a half hours long. Five total hours of instruction.
Session #1: Overview National Electrical Code. How to find answers to common questions.
Session #2: Overview Continuation and sample exam.
Dates: Wednesdays, April 21 & 28, 2021
Time: 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm Central/ 6:00 to 8:30 Eastern (5 total hours)
Cost: Apprentices & Employees of ABC members — $75
Practice Exam Questions: At the conclusion of the first session on April 21, a 50-question sample exam will be sent in an email to participants. This will give participants a week to work on the questions. The second session will focus on going over each question. Please have the 2017 National Electrical Code book and/or the applicable code for your jurisdiction, scrap paper, writing instrument, and a calculator available at the start of the course.

Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin is proud to announce the graduation of 240 apprentices for 2020. Due to the pandemic, our annual graduation ceremony was pushed back to 2021, but we are excited to celebrate the accomplishments of these men and women during a virtual graduation ceremony on May 13, 2021, featuring graduate photos, a keynote speaker and surprise video greetings from special guests.
There is no charge to attend the Virtual Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony. ABC of Wisconsin is utilizing Remo, an online networking and presentation platform, to highlight the Class of 2020. The platform will allow graduates to meet and chat by video with friends and family at virtual tables before the graduation ceremony begins. Tables will be assigned based on the number of guests registered for each apprentice, but guests are welcome to move around and visit any table.

every month in this country – let’s make sure you make it out alive!
This hands-on course will prepare you to perform confined space work
and understand the hazards involved.
The course is extremely interactive – participants will spend about
1/2 of the course working with the confined space simulator, atmospheric
monitoring, ventilation, fall protection, and rescue/retrieval equipment.
Participants should come prepared to get involved –
bring your gloves, hard hats, safety boots and safety
glasses, and dress for outdoor activities.
