Critical Skills® was developed for selected construction team members to support supervisors and leaders by providing top field personnel with pre-leadership training. Each of the four 2-hour modules are presented using a fast-paced direct approach. They are jam packed with immediately actionable and relevant content. Critical Skills® generates meaningful discussions between supervisors and their crew members, putting everyone on the same page.

Who Should Enroll?
This program is for field-level employees and others who want to develop soft skills, including the ability to communicate effectively. All members of work crews can benefit as well, including journey-level workers, supervisors and employers.

    Michael Somers

    The Construction Classroom

    Mike is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in Business Management. He has over 30 years construction experience as Owner and Manager of construction businesses in Wisconsin. Mike has served on the ABC Wisconsin Board of Directors and was the driving force behind the creation of the ABC Heavy Equipment Operator Apprenticeship program, having taught the program for several years. Currently, Mike teaches several Construction leadership and management courses for ABC Wisconsin. In addition, he continues to travel throughout the United States and Canada teaching construction professionals and sharing a lifetime of “real experiences” in and personal enthusiasm for construction.
