DOT and Fleet Safety Needs Webinar by Johnson Financial Group

Contractors all drive trucks and move things from location to location, or from the main office to a job site. They use trailers and big rigs to do some of the work, but these are not the only vehicles at risk of DOT and fleet safety needs. We hope to cover the do’s and don’ts of these daily activities as well as some basic fleet safety points. Conversation will include load securement and rules and regulations on moving heavy loads on the highway, as well as seasonal weight restrictions on roadways. Overviews of safety on trucks, three points of contact, slips/falls, jumping off trailers, dock safety will also be included.

Speakers

David Manke, VP Loss Control Manager, Johnson Financial Group

Dave Manke has an extensive background in quality control, risk management and regulatory compliance. He earned a Bachelor of Science-Education in Chemistry and Education and a Master of Science in Occupational Safety Management from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. David is an active member of the Wisconsin Safety Council Safety Advisory Board and Congress Planning Committee and the Ergonomics Advisory: Long Term Care Initiative for Federal OSHA. He maintains the following certifications, Certified School Risk Manager (CSRM), Certificate in Safety Management (CSM), OSHA 10 Hour Certified Outreach Trainer in Construction.

Renee’ Funk, AVP Loss Control Engineer, Johnson Financial Group

Renee’ Funk was the Lead Investigator with the Wisconsin State Patrol’s Motor Carrier Investigation Unit, prior to joining JFG, where she worked closely with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for over 12 years. As a DOT expert, she has an extensive knowledge in transportation as it relates the rules and regulations to which companies are subject to under both State and Federal laws.
