Instructor:  Joe Hertel, retired chief electrical engineer for the State of Wisconsin,

Course Description:
This course will cover the general requirements for One- and Two- Family Dwellings as well as the modifications or changes required by the State of Wisconsin Electrical Code, SPS 316.  Topics include, branch-circuit, feeder, service and other calculations, personnel protection (GFCIs, AFCIs, smoke alarms), service grounding and bonding requirements, cabinets, panel boards, and meter socket enclosures as well as branch circuits and feeders and their wiring methods, including over current protection.

Additional topics will include, outlet, device, pull and junction boxes, including box fill calculations, power and lighting distribution (general lighting circuits, small appliance branch circuits, receptacle spacing), requirements for luminaries, receptacles, and switches, requirements for appliances, fixed electric space-heating equipment, air conditioning and heat-pump equipment.

Credit:
3 hours of apprenticeship unpaid related instruction
3 hours of Wisconsin Electrical CEUs– registered electricians, journeyman electricians, and master electricians
