The 45th Parallel Distillery Event Center in New Richmond is an 8,500-square-foot, pre-engineered Butler steel building with a 250-person banquet area, 75-person mezzanine, full bar, tasting space and a full kitchen and pizza bar. The distillery’s first manufacturing building was built in 2006 by Derrick Building Solutions. The intent was making sure the new building would keep with the look of the other manufacturing buildings on the site; contemporary, yet industrial. One of the challenges the team faced early on was getting construction started in time to meet wedding dates that were booked for the summer of 2020. After construction started, COVID-19 hit and the distillery shifted production to hand sanitizer, which was distributed for free. That packed the site with hundreds of cars each week. Special precautions were employed for the virus.
