Bardo Custom Blending

Despite starting with existing structures that were out of square with one another, having structural steel delivered rusty and the incorrect length, poor soils and the effects of Covid, Friede delivered Bardo Custom Blending a modern and efficient building addition.

Less than five years after Friede & Associates completed a 23,000-square-foot remodel and warehouse addition at Bardo Custom Blending in Elroy, the contractor was back for another expansion. This time the project would entail turning the original small office area into an employee breakroom and locker room and then adding a new 9,500-square-foot addition onto the production side of the building to allow for new dried milk production lines equipment. The project required the team to redesign the plans and add additional fire separation due to a reclassification of the building by a state reviewer. That occurred after construction began. The site was also over-excavated due to unexpected poor soils and excessive rain. The contractor also cleaned off oxidation and rust and then repainted nearly all the structural steel that was delivered and modified plans because the structural steel for the building was two feet taller than necessary.
