The 50,000-square-foot WDS Construction Bowlero/AMF bowling and entertainment project backfilled a 50-year old high-rise residential tower with neighboring retail and restaurant venues. There are 13 stories of residential above and three levels of parking below. Extenuating site conditions, including post tension cables and numerous conflicts with floor drains and plumbing penetrations, required special attention. With no laydown area for materials, tools and equipment, WDS was required to overcoordinate simple tasks on a daily basis. With residents immediately above, the contractor coordinated with the building engineer and developed strategic plans for noise reduction. WDS was able to obtain an occupancy certificate without in-person inspections due to the timing of the initial outbreak of COVID-19. The venue has 32 blacklight lanes, lounge seating, interactive arcades and high-definition video walls.
