Catalent’s third GMP Manufacturing Train project consisted of a multi-phased 12,000 square foot addition and 7,000 square foot renovation. This new space will help Catalent expand their cell line engineering and biomanufacturing capabilities. It included new clean rooms, labs, office space, a mechanical mezzanine, loading dock, gantry and substantial HVAC and process piping. The addition contains conventional concrete foundations, a structural steel frame, a steel joist/metal deck roof structure, a composite concrete/deck mezzanine, and light-gauge framed gantries. One notable challenge was the significant number of change orders totalling $2 million.
