Chula Vista Resort Fire Restoration
A summer lightning strike in July 2017 at the indoor waterpark at Chula Vista Resort ignited a fire in the roof parapets and roof structure. Two of the raised parapet walls on the roof were destroyed and significant water damage was inflicted to the wall and roof systems. Friede & Associates and its construction partners removed and replaced nearly 200 feet of upper wall sections, installed a new roof system and retextured the Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EIFS) of the area below the wall replacement, all while keeping the waterpark open during construction. The $1.2 million project began in September 2017 and was completed in January 2018.
