Exact Sciences is a commercial, biotechnical research company in Madison known best as the producer of Cologuard® for early detection cancer screenings. Their latest addition is the 101,000-square-foot Amenities building featuring food service facilities, fitness center and gathering spaces suitable for large assemblies. NAMI was selected to provide plumbing for the five-story project using an integrated project delivery method, providing valuable input on constructability and project costs for the duration of the project. Deliveries were a big challenge, as trucks with needed materials waited in que at a remote location. Features included in-floor heating, multiple submersible ejector pumps and an 8,000-gallon grease interceptor. Prefabrication and 3D/BIM modeling helped the project with many small openings and site challenges to maintain quality and identify conflicts before they appeared in the field The project was completed safely and on schedule.
