This work was performed within a finished healthcare environment requiring infection control, interim life safety measures with sensitivity to patient privacy and Health Care providers.

Alpha Insulation and Waterproofing provided the electrical circuitry protection for Froedert Hospital’s Vertical Expansion project, providing a means of fire protection to extend evacuation time, improve reliance on firefighting safety equipment and maintain alarm systems. Encasing cables in concrete or gypsum was not practical. The use of 3M Interam Endothermic Mat protection, an extremely innovative and technically challenging wrap application, releases chemically-bound water to cool the outer surfaces when exposed to high temperatures. With most work occurring above finished ceilings in fully-operational patient care areas, special infection-control measures were required by the contractor.
