Glen Park Pavilion – Shelter

The Glen Park Pavilion is a beautiful project that included 8,142 man hours worked with zero recorded accidents. Staying on budget with a project this size and many requested change orders from the city throughout construction was a great feat.

Glen Park Pavilion – Shelter

River Falls, WI

Ross & Associates, Ltd.

Owner: City of River Falls

Designer: I & S Group (ISG)

The Glen Park Pavilion provided River Falls with a beautiful new event building, which includes a kitchen, outdoor overhang, restrooms, grilling and seating area and a storm shelter. There were many change orders from the city throughout the 12-months of construction. Much of the quality control began with careful planning and inspection, especially with the logistics of material deliveries and equipment operation for construction within an active urban park. To meet deadlines, Ross & Associates used Critical Path Method (CPM) to calculate time for all activities while including “float time” for possible delays typical in the construction. The contractor also used value engineering, which required a special focus on the techniques, planning and design of the project. The proximity of the job site was a great convenience and gave Ross & Associates a helpful advantage in creating a work schedule. In the end, there were 8,100 man hours with zero recorded accidents.
