ESI Group USA partnered with Reinhart Food Service under a design-build contract for a state-of-the art food distribution center in Shawano. During construction, Performance Food Group purchased the company, which meant major changes in client team members and changes to the initial approach and design. ESI delivered the project on time and within budget, despite the acquisition delaying the start date. Significant rain also caused the loss of 30 work days. The 243,000-square-foot distribution facility features refrigeration equipment skid package, dry grocery receiving office, perishable food receiving office, operations and transportation office as well as administrative/executive office areas and accessory buildings for fleet maintenance totaling another 16,500 square feet. It has a dry dock, dry storage, storage mezzanine, +40 degree dock, +35 degree cooler, +45 degree produce cooler, +55 degree produce cooler, +28 degree meat freezer, +55 degree will-call cooler and -10 degree freezer.
