NCI-Roberts Construction transformed a dated, industrial building in Sun Prairie into a standout, modern worship space for Heartland Church. The 35,700-square-foot, 10-month renovation includes a new main entrance, two auditoriums, children’s and inclusive ministries and additional parking. To open up the shell, all affected interior walls, ceilings, mezzanine, stairs, and flooring throughout were demolished and recycled when possible. All plumbing, mechanicals, electrical, and modified existing fire sprinklers were removed. All electrical was updated with LED lighting and the entire roof was redone. Trenches were cut in the concrete floor to re-pipe underground plumbing to the new bathroom location, and a new six-inch water main service was added. The entire HVAC system was updated. New steel framed interior walls were built and insulated, and multiple layers of drywall were installed.
