The 13,500-square-foot project Mt. Morris Mutual Insurance Company by Ellis Construction required detailed planning to protect the existing building. The new office building was fit between the original schoolhouse building, the existing septic tanks and the septic drain field. Reclaimed barnwood timbers were used in the vaulted entry to the office. Large, custom printed vinyl wallcovering of the historical photos from the Richford area and original schoolhouse pictures add to the refined rustic interior aesthetic, but also pay tribute to farmers who have been the lifeblood of Mt. Morris Mutual since its beginning. Due to the rural setting in which Mt. Morris is located, various amenities were included in this new office building for employee convenience and retention. The patio has a quiet country setting with a cupola, made of original schoolhouse bricks and housing the original schoolhouse bell.
