Oakstone Recreational is a 14,000 square-foot pre-engineered metal building located in Cottage Grove. The $2.6 million fast-track project took five months to construct and was completed in time for the fall volleyball season. It includes a 10,000 square foot high-bay building with two indoor volleyball courts and a 4,000 square foot restaurant, bar and kitchen that wraps around two sides of the facility. To meet business park architectural standards, textured insulated panels were installed in a horizontal manner to add interest. The Friede team faced many obstacles, including record spring rains, a heart attack by the superintendent, an electrical contractor backing out for scheduling issues and FAA restrictions because of the proximity to an airport.
