Ochsner Park Otter Exhibit
Baraboo’s Ochsner Park Zoo is one of only five small municipal free zoos in the state of Wisconsin. After bids for a new otter exhibit came in nearly three times over budget, the city of Baraboo contacted Friede & Associates for help. Friede developed a phased plan to create the exhibit, working with the Friends of the Baraboo Zoo and the city to design and build an exhibit with funds that had been raised to date. Ultimately, the project came to be through the cooperation of all parties working together to creatively solve the budget constraints while still meeting the building requirements for the exhibit.
