The 81,000 square foot Parkdale Mall project in Beaumont, TX, was a beast of a project from demo to turnover. The redevelopment of the old Macy’s into a Dick’s Sporting Goods, GolfGalaxy and Field & Stream took a new direction after bids were let out. The new plan was Dick’s Sporting Goods, Home Goods and Five Below stores. As a result, WDS Construction had to send out updated plans. Another major challenge was relocating an electrical line that powers half the mall. WDS also dealt with a rainy construction period. The results are eye-catching with attractive facades for all three stores. Even more important, the project was completed with zero lost-time accidents.
