Prairie Ridge is a beautiful, new, 108,000 square foot intermediate school with many unique features, such as the operable glass curtainwall for the IMC/Library and a glass cafeteria wall that opens onto a patio. It has 30 classrooms and a two-station gym for school and community use. There are different themes for each wing and the corridors represent the surrounding landscape of the Reedsburg area; such as the sandstone bluffs, forest, agriculture, and Baraboo river. The security system is high-tech and incorporates cameras for faculty to follow someone throughout the school. Kraemer Brothers coordinated massive rock excavation to accommodate underground utilities. There were also record rainfalls and flooding in the footing trenches.
