The Lodge at Mauston is an upscale lodge-style hotel and event center with 61 guest rooms, swimming pool, fitness center, and upscale steakhouse. The vaulted ceilings and open wood trusses rise above a stone fireplace, reminiscent of the great western frontier. The project required significant attention to detail, especially the unique requests of the owner. More than 2,000 bolts and structural connection plates for the heavy timber were made special in the owner’s manufacturing plant with the help of JKC. Cold weather was a major factor as temperatures plunged to 45 degrees below zero. The team used heaters from the owner’s manufacturing plant to keep the project from delays. The 66,000 square foot project was completed without lost time incidents.
