Viking Liquor Store Renovation
Viking Liquor underwent a complete makeover by Holtz Builders while staying in operation. The project maximized space and added income for the owner. The 19,500-square-foot interior included a new entry vestibule area with storefront entrance doors, an office, updated restrooms, a janitor space and a new tenant space for Verizon Mobile. Special procedures and controls were required for the maintenance and removal of asbestos-containing materials. Because the building was built in 1975 and had multiple renovations over the years with only old paper plans, structural issues were uncovered. Demolition included saw cutting on the existing floor to reroute the plumbing and electrical to connect to the existing lines. Holtz Builders had to be strategic about how to move forward while continuing regular business operations for the safety of customers.
