Waterman Log Crafters
After a collapsed roof from a heavy downpour, Waterman Log Crafters asked Holtz Builders for help in reconstructing a 56-foot by 72-foot post-frame building as a shop area to store equipment and have additional space for log crafting projects. The plans also included an attached 24-foot by 40-foot post-frame addition to share a common wall. Scattered debris in a tight, confined area during a wet, cold and snowy climate was a challenge. Six loads of scrap metal was salvaged. The existing buildings were in close proximity and along a wooded backdrop, which caused congestion for both the equipment and the manpower scheduling. The owner’s request to keep the the canopy of the old building to butt up with the new building required careful coordination. Another challenge was that the electrical and gas lines needed updating in the old building. Holtz Builders self-performed nearly three quarters of all the work.
