Robinwood Elementary School, one of five high-performing elementary schools in the Franklin Public School District (WI), was in need of a roofing solution to ensure that high-quality learning would continue without interruption. This school project had a two-and-a-half-month timeline, various levels and types of roof systems, and tight site logistics. Pioneer Roofing was able to meet and exceed the requirements and requests from Franklin Public Schools to deliver a roof solution that will propel them forward for many years to come. One specific challenge of the roof design was that there were three different roof variations, including complete tear-off adhered EPDM, partial tear-off EPDM, and partial tear-off ballasted EPDM. Additionally, the roof design utilizes “pods” that create multiple changes in elevation, differing roof pitches, potential trip hazards, and section connections that are intricate. The majority of these roofs were complete tear-offs down to Tectum or metal decking, and some sections required extensive ballast vacuuming and power brushing. The areas in which to stage equipment were tight, and the timeframe to complete all sections, given extensive rainfall, led to a more compact timeline for Pioneer Roofing to complete the work that exceeded expectations for the district.
