Main Street Apartments in Viroqua, Wisconsin, represents a significant investment in community growth and revitalization. As the general contractor, Northcentral Construction Corporation managed demolition of county shops, storage buildings, and workshops, followed by the removal of nearly 2,000 yards of unsuitable and contaminated soil. Rather than discarding all materials, the team crushed and reused approximately 5,000 tons of concrete rubble on site, creating a stable foundation and demonstrating a commitment to sustainable building practices. At 123,994 sq. ft., the project features modern apartments across three floors, complemented by two retail spaces and a 6,000 sq. ft. daycare on the first floor. This blend of housing and services provides long-term value to the Viroqua community. Northcentral Construction overcame some of the wettest June and July conditions on record in 2024, working through constant rainfall and difficult soil conditions while still maintaining schedule and quality. Most notably, the project was completed with no reportable safety accidents, a reflection of Northcentral’s dedication to planning, communication, and the well-being of every team member. What was once an aging county facility has been replaced with a modern development that combines housing, retail, and daycare, a lasting addition to the Viroqua community.
