This hands-on training has been designed to identify, test, and describe HVAC components and their functions. Pictorial/letter diagrams and trace electrical circuits will be covered along with instruction for how to troubleshoot and repair units using tools supplied on furnace simulators.
Who should attend: Entry-level HVAC technicians, HVAC or sheet metal apprentices or technicians interested in reviewing basic HVAC electrical content. Although it is not limited to apprentices, this course counts toward 6 hours unpaid apprenticeship hours for HVAC and sheet metal apprentices.

- Electrical terminology
- AC/DC voltage
- HVAC furnace electrical components and schematic symbols
- Series and parallel circuits
- Open and short-circuits
- Safety and operating circuits
- Reading wiring diagrams
- Multi-meter functions and testing
- Furnace sequence of operations
- Component testing
- Checking amp draw an A/C circuit.
- Checking flame signal.
- Resistance and capacitance testing
- Hands on troubleshooting using real-time Furnace simulators.
