About the Project

National Construction safely completed an extensive project for Alpine Slicing & Cheese Conversion, a growing business that slices and packages bulk cheese. The project included 54,700 square feet of remodeling and 8,300 square feet of new construction. A new production area was designed for efficiency, easy cleaning and compliance with exacting food safety standards. Notably, the production and boxing areas were designed with a climate-controlled interstitial space above to allow access to mechanicals for maintenance and repair without having to breach the contained sanitation areas. The receiving and shipping areas were designed to allow truck drivers to enter the facility, observe their trucks being loaded and unloaded and provide access to a designated restroom, all without having to wear personal protective equipment. Employee-focused areas of the facility were improved, including the cafeteria, locker rooms, uniform check-in area and training space. The exterior of the facility was significantly updated, including insulation, fireproofing and aesthetics, as well as new asphalt and concrete. National provided front-end support to the client during the design-build process and assisted in navigating governmental regulations. This project allows Alpine Slicing & Cheese Conversion to operate more efficiently with state-of-the-art machinery in a facility that is set up for more growth.
