The American Birkebeiner Base Camp is the start of a new era for Mount Telemark Village in Cable, Wisconsin. This brand new 13,700 square-foot community center sits in the heart of the village and serves as the central gathering place for the Birkie community. It boasts a large gathering hall with a custom gas fireplace, 24-hour restrooms, showers, and changing stalls, the Birkie apparel store, the relocated Tony Wise Museum, an office space for staff and a conference room. Tenant businesses are also incorporated into the new facility, including satellite locations for a locally owned Backroads Coffee Shop, locally owned New Moon Ski & Bike Shop and Wisconsin’s own global corporation,Trek Bicycles. The building includes a large wall of south-facing windows that invites natural lighting and provides a scenic view. It is also fashioned with exposed glu-lam beams, sloped ceilings and a mono-pitched roof that changes direction. Royal Construction was able to ensure that this project was done on time and on budget.
