The Arden is a large mixed-use development located along the East Washington corridor of Madison. This new eleven-story apartment structure has a total of 337,600 gross interior square footage, including 126 apartments, office/commercial space and 295 parking stalls. Stevens Construction worked with city officials to coordinate the best routing of equipment and trucks to have the least impact to the adjacent neighborhood and school. The cast stone elements along the ground level required tedious skill from the masonry contractor due to the size and color of stone as well as the close proximity to public view. The quantity of exposed concrete columns required additional time and skill to create, protect and detail to provide a quality product. Also of note are the custom laser-cut, back-lit aluminum wall and ceiling panels on display in the main lobby along with the 11th floor community lounge. The rooftop has multiple solar panels and rooftop green space for retaining storm water.
