Briggs & Stratton needed to upgrade its acoustic and vibration test lab. ACS managed the design, construction and commissioning of a state-of-the-art Noise, Vibration, & Harshness Test Laboratory. The renovation in a manufacturing setting required that ACS literally “raise the roof” to meet requirements for the lab. ACS overcame many challenges to consolidate lab spaces, increase testing capacity, update and add measurement and analysis capabilities and improve energy efficiency with mechanical and electrical upgrades. A helicopter lift was used instead of an oversized crane to place all roof-mounted equipment. The project was $1 million over budget prior to value engineering.
