This 90,000 square foot facility is a state-of-the-art cold storage, cut/shred and packaging space. The facility is safe-food-certified and built to be ready for future expansion without interruption of operations. The building site was an existing field used to distribute/spray the excess waste water from the cheese process plant, making the sub-surface soils very difficult to work with. Most construction was completed during an extremely rainy period. Permitting for highway access improvements was delayed and the contractor had to work around an inefficient town inspection schedule. WDS saved the owner significant money with several value engineering strategies.
