Fort Atkinson DPW

This project was first discussed following a feasibility study in 2016. Fort Atkinson Public works was evaluating the existing DPW building (built sometime in the 1950s or 1960s) to determine if it had reached its capacity and usefulness to the City of Fort Atkinson. At that time, although near the end of its lifecycle, the city chose not to pursue a new building. Instead, a new building would be on a future municipal budget. Roofing issues began to surface in 2021, and the city came to a crossroads to either replace the existing roof or pursue a new facility. Designs were release for bid in late 2023 and Gilbank Construction, Inc. was awarded the project in early 2024. Gilbank Construction, Inc. received occupancy of the facility in March of 2025 and finalized site work by June of 2025.
