Consolidated Construction resuscitated one of the Midwest’s most iconic destinations ? the Heidel House ? returning it to its proper luster. This project consisted of a Class-A demolition and renovation of much of the interior of the Main Lodge and Lac Verde building, including the interior lobby and public spaces to allow for a new bar and restaurant. The entire property was right sized from roughly 190 guest rooms to its present tally of 115 renovated rooms. The contractor remodeled 12,000 square feet of space for banquets, meetings, weddings and private events. Offices and bathrooms, which blocked the view of Green Lake from the lobby, were relocated to allow for a panoramic view upon entry to the Main Lodge. The Mariner Building was partially demolished and converted into employee housing. Several ancillary buildings which were no longer functional or feasible were taken down. It was all done on an aggressive, seven-month schedule with zero recordable incidents.
