INCLUSA and The United Way of Portage County both serve as organizations dedicated to assisting those who are in greatest need. With the opportunity to renovate the former Delta Dental headquarters, the new space allowed them to consider innovative ways to house their respective staff members, while continuing to advance their missions of service, along with the natural synergies that nine other non-profit organizations would allow for, creating a virtual one stop location for community service organizations. Ellis Construction, the design-build partner, played a key role in the comprehensive transformation of the 50,000-square-foot space. The property was placed into a condo association which allowed for the United Way to own their space for the first time in over 60 years. INCLUSA was able to advance into their own quarters and continue their senior citizen, disability and other special needs services. Overall, the project was a great success and showed the determination of the owners to plant their standard for years to come in service to others. As part of their dedication to giving back, Ellis Construction contributed over $70,000 to the United Way portion of the project through profit reduction, in-kind design services, and equipment donations.
