About the Project

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building technology and software, looked to develop a new engineering center in Glendale, Wisconsin, incorporating safety and sustainability to support its business growth. Weas Development was the project developer, with Mortenson Construction as the general contractor. Faith Technologies Incorporated (FTI) has partnered with Mortenson on previous projects, and they chose FTI as the electrical contractor based on our ability to meet the project’s rigorous timeframe while performing high quality, safe work. The project had a strict timeline based on the company’s lease agreements. The biggest obstacles were long lead times for required equipment and materials. FTI’s experience and partnerships enabled us to procure the materials within the stringent timeframe. While the initial plan was to build onto existing floorspace, FTI was able to demonstrate advantages to excavating the existing flooring to enable electrical and other utility components to be installed underground. FTI also developed and installed a rooftop photovoltaic solar array to support the customer’s sustainability goals, consisting of more than 250 solar panels which can generate 154,305 kWh of energy annually. We also installed three electric vehicle (EV) chargers at the facility for use by Johnson Controls’ guests and team members.
