Miller Brothers Auto Repair in Somerset is a 4,100-square-foot, wood-framed shop addition with a 1,024-square-foot mezzanine office and break room. Derrick Building Solutions was contracted for the design/build to add six workstations, which doubled the business capacity to accommodate tremendous growth. Standard framing was used to meet a short deadline of four months rather than using insulated panels which required product lead time. The facility was kept open during construction, which posed some challenges for the contractor. Some work was done off hours when customers were not present. A nice focal point in the shop is the new epoxy floors, which had to cure before new lifts arrived. A connection between the existing building and new structure was cut near the end of construction. The project was completed three weeks ahead of schedule. Now, Derrick Building Solutions is tackling a renovation in the older existing building.
