Mt. Olympus Icarus Waterslide and Outdoor Addition

The Mt. Olympus Icarus Expansion stands as a testament to innovation and excellence in the attraction industry. Working within just two acres, this ambitious project features the Rise of Icarus, America’s tallest waterslide towering at 159 feet and offering four body slide options at the 60-foot mark. It also introduced seven new kiddie slides, eight luxury cabanas and a multi-use building encompassing a restaurant, retail space, and locker area to enhance the park’s interest. Despite facing significant challenges such as unsuitable soil conditions, severe weather days and logistical constraints, Holtz Builders successfully completed the expansion ahead of schedule, under budget and, proudly, with no safety accidents. The project exemplified extensive collaboration between Holtz Builders, the owners and other stakeholders, fostering creative solutions and meticulous planning to meet the set deadlines. Innovative construction methods, including pre-assembling tower sections on the ground for safety and efficiency, showcased Holtz Builders’ commitment to quality. Additionally, the team prioritized inclusivity, incorporating ADA-compliant features in the luxury cabanas to ensure accessibility for all guests. The successful completion of the Icarus Expansion not only enhanced the guest experience but also solidified Mt. Olympus’s reputation as the premier family resort destination in the amusement park industry.
