About the Project

Spread out over a large high school campus, this multi-phase, 17 month project for the Muskego School District needed the right team. Steiner Electric was chosen by the GC and the district to perform the work. After being awarded the $4.2 million project, they got to work preparing for the additions and renovations to the school that would provide over 18,000 labor hours. The renovations included a gym, locker rooms, a kitchen, music rooms and nursing classrooms. New construction included a large indoor sports facility, fitness center, locker rooms, classrooms, an autos and fabrication lab and new parking lots. Electrically, Steiner Electric installed a new 4000 amp service and 300 kW generator to provide power to the school, all while managing subcontractors for low voltage, sound, and PA systems. Challenges inevitably arise with school work to manage tight timetables as well as performing most of the work while school was in session. Steiner did this with the utmost focus on safety and had zero injuries or incidents. To save time, Steiner redesigned the engineer’s power distribution. This saved the project two additional shut downs and four total days of being without power, allowing the project to continue without delay.
