Almost immediately after receiving a 2016 Gold Project of Distinction Award for their new facility in Prairie du Chien, the owners of Nelson Agri-Center began planning for a matching make-over of their store in Viroqua with Friede & Associates. A major challenge for the contractor was allowing the client to keep the business open during construction, which pushed much of the work to night time. The $473,000, 12-month total makeover included new ceilings, lighting and layout in the first phase and renovation of the building exterior with timber framed entry, timber dormers, metal roofing and masonry-wrapped columns to match the Prairie du Chien store.
