The transformation of a former city parking lot into the captivating waterfront Northslip 2.0/Inventors Brewpub in Port Washington Harbor was completed by Northcentral Construction in 2024. The innovative two-story restaurant, brewery and event space, designed with a zero-lot line concept, seamlessly integrates with a boardwalk on Lake Michigan. The project successfully merged modern architecture with the natural beauty of Port Washington’s waterfront. Originally contracted with another builder who backed out at the last minute, the stakeholders reached out to Northcentral Construction for help. During the initial step of this partnership, Northcentral spent four months in strategic value engineering efforts, involving a reduction in building height and utilizing steel and wood infill framing, ensuring the project’s viability within the budget. The result is a unique waterfront experience characterized by full-view glass doors, outdoor dining areas and stunning harbor views. This project revitalizes downtown Port Washington and showcases architectural innovation and restoration, honoring the site’s history. Featuring a 10-barrel craft brewery, a bar and restaurant, a divisible events space known as Edison Hall (named after the American inventor Thomas Edison), and 8,500 square feet of professional space. This development is a testament to creativity and adaptation and was completed in twelve months.
