Peloton is a four-building, mixed-use development by Stevens Construction Corp. that sits on top of underground parking. Peloton has 172 total units and one retail space on a pie-shaped lot in Madison. This nearly zero-lot line project on a busy intersection required close coordination with the city. A traditional tower crane was not an option, so self-erecting tower cranes and multiple mobile cranes were used. Lengthy value engineering prompted a major redesign. A combination of precast and structural steel was switched to post-tension concrete and a floor was added to create 16 additional units. One pour had nearly 100 cables in one beam. Construction of a wood frame building included balloon frame walls with an incredible amount of fire treated lumber, sheathing and dens glass. Stevens used a full catalog of drone pictures and videos to reference key post tension locations and used iPads and Bluebeam to drop pictures at specific locations on the plans.
