QBE Building 300 was an unusually fast track project that involved remodeling over 70,000 square foot of office space in 35 weeks. Much of the existing ductwork and piping required a redesign to accommodate the floating cloud ceiling concept. North American Mechanical, Inc. overcame unforeseen obstacles such as undersized existing piping, design modifications that required material changes or a rework of existing systems. The cloud ceiling concept required upgrades to traditional insulation materials and techniques. A special insulation was used that would accept and hold paint. The high visibility of all the mechanical systems required special care when insulation was applied.
