In July 2021, work began on the extensive remodel transforming the former Eau Claire Children’s Museum in downtown Eau Claire into Reboot Social. Reboot Social is a cutting-edge entertainment facility that offers attractions for people of all ages. The original building was constructed in 1954 and was once home to Woolworth’s General Store. This project required extensive demolition in which numerous quirks of the old building were uncovered. Between these quirks and lengthy lead times for material, many challenges were faced throughout the duration of this project, which spanned 15,000 square feet across the lower level and first floor. Nevertheless, with careful planning and extensive communication with subcontractors, Royal Construction was able to complete the project on time and under budget. Special features of the Reboot Social include four duckpin bowling lanes, 50+ retro arcade games, 20+ pinball machines, skee-ball, billiards, darts, and much more. Each floor is equipped with a full-service bar and state-of-the-art sound system, and the main floor has a full kitchen.
