Saint Michael’s Hospital – Nuc Med/Cath Lab

This 2,700 square foot renovation allowed for upgrades to Nuclear Medicine as well as a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catherization Lab to directly treat various cardiac blockages and obstructions. Working in patient care areas was an obstacle that Ellis Construction faced during this project. A top safety priority was maintaining infection control during for all patients and staff in the proximity of work. Ellis had to coordinate periodic, temporary shut downs with the fire alarms, fire protection, HVAC, and domestic water in order to integrate the new system with the existing. One unique characteristic of this project was that the floor for the Cath Lab had to be completely leveled and electrically grounded due to the equipment in that area.
