This 1.5 acre Schmeeckle Reserve is a stage and amphitheater for up to 250 people to enjoy lectures, literature readings and performances in the outdoors. The owner had a lot of expectations for the details of the landscape, so there was extensive coordination between the owner and Ellis Construction to make sure the vision was met. Construction on the project did not start until late fall, which made it very difficult to install the structures and stone before winter. Winter access to the site was quite difficult since it was off road. Careful planning had to be implemented so that the roof framing structure could be placed. The abandoned landscaping picked back up in the spring with minimal impact on nature and natural areas around the site.
