About the Project

The Tradition at Smoky’s proudly stands in Madison, WI, paying tribute to the historic Smoky’s Supper Club, which graced the community for over 69 years. This 82,371-square-foot mixed-use residential building honors the legacy of where the iconic supper club once stood. The development preserves its charm with key historical elements, including poinsettia red MCM paneling. Inside, imagery from vintage menus and old photographs evoke a modernized supper club ambiance. The building features 59 thoughtfully designed units, ranging from studio to two-bedroom apartments and includes 62 parking spaces across both underground and first-floor levels. The first floor also houses a commercial space, with parking conveniently located for customers. Residents enjoy a variety of amenities, including a rooftop terrace with grilling stations, fire pits, and outdoor seating connected to a spacious clubroom. Other features include a fitness center, private patios and balconies and noise-mitigating windows and doors. Additionally, nearby wooded hiking trails and a short drive to downtown Madison enhance the overall experience. Effective communication with neighboring buildings and partners enabled the project team to navigate challenges such as road closures and heavy delivery routes, ensuring the seamless completion of The Tradition at Smoky’s, proudly carrying on the supper club’s legacy.
