About the Project

Enrollment at the University of Wisconsin-Madison continues to grow and students are facing increasing housing shortages. VERVE Madison, a near-campus student living apartment, provides much-needed relief to the evolving market. Standing 12 stories tall and covering 278,143 square feet, VERVE Madison offers 142 units and 536 beds, along with two levels of below-grade parking, constructed with 14,189 cubic yards of concrete. Designed to enhance the student experience, VERVE Madison features amenities tailored to both academics and leisure. The rooftop space boasts a 28-person pool, hot tub, turf lawn game area, bar with grill station, TV and a 6,500-square-foot pollinator green roof. Inside the building, students have access to enclosed glass study areas equipped with AV technology, a window-lined fitness center with city views, a cedar sauna and a variety of community amenities throughout the building. One of the greatest challenges during construction was managing tight site constraints. Flanked by two busy one-way streets, a narrow alley and a neighboring building with no access, the project required strategic crane placement and innovative planning. Despite these obstacles, VERVE Madison was completed on time, just in time for student move-in.
