The Wanek Center of Innovation involved renovating the existing Business Education Building on the La Crosse campus to transform it into the new building. Nearly 35 local trade partners collaborated to create this newly renovated 34,172 sq. ft. space. The new center boasts high-level classrooms, robotics/computer lab, restrooms, office and administration areas, overhead doors, and two large open vestibules. The Wanek Center of Innovation is a cutting-edge facility for advanced manufacturing education and training, meant to serve as a catalyst for economic growth in western Wisconsin. It aims to respond to current and future workforce demands around robotics, automation, smart manufacturing, data analytics, virtual systems, cybersecurity, mechatronics, and electromechanical technology.
