ABC of Wisconsin Congratulates Johnson, Gallagher & Grothman on Electoral Victories

Building Wisconsin Award Winners All Reelected in State Legislature

[Madison, Wis…] John Mielke, Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin President, released the following statement after yesterday’s election results, which saw victories from U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, Congressman-Elect Mike Gallagher and Congressman Glenn Grothman – all endorsed by ABC of Wisconsin. In addition, every state legislator up in 2016 who received ABC’s Building Wisconsin award was handily reelected.

“Congratulations to Sen. Ron Johnson on his victory last night. We are eager to send him back to Washington for another six years. In his first term, he was a staunch advocate for the merit shop philosophy and ABC of Wisconsin members. We look forward to continuing our work with Sen. Johnson on behalf of all our members.

“We are also excited that Congressman Glenn Grothman was elected to another term in Congress and are pleased to see Mike Gallagher will be joining him this January in our nation’s capital. Both will do a terrific job of representing ABC of Wisconsin members and will steadfastly defend the free enterprise system.

“At the state level, we are proud to say every legislator who received the Building Wisconsin award that was up for reelection will be heading back to Madison. These men and women are strong defenders of open competition and merit shop contractors all across the state.

“With the election behind us, we look forward to working with the state legislature and Gov. Scott Walker on multiple policy initiatives that will keep Wisconsin’s economy moving forward.”

Associated Builders and Contractors is a national trade association, representing more than 21,000 merit shop contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, manufacturers and construction-related professionals. With more than 800 members, the Wisconsin chapter is the largest in the country. ABC members support the merit shop philosophy which stresses open competition and the free enterprise system, and they believe the best construction projects are those Built On Merit.
